Personally I don't care about walking a section here or there so I'd definitely gear for the flats. 2:1 on the flats might be too easy though, you might have to go bigger.

I think someone could muscle up murphy's and hardscrabble on a 2:1 if that was a goal but I doubt I'd give it much of a try myself. For one I don't like taking a stem to the nuts on those loose climbs when you're almost passed out :)Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14960740006971546039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9492102.post-89845809204546980692008-04-03T09:16:00.000-06:002008-04-03T09:16:00.000-06:00Sub 7 on a single - that'd be a ripper of a ride f...Sub 7 on a single - that'd be a ripper of a ride for sure. Maybe...you'd have to gear for the flats and run the climbs, and have tailwinds. And no sand. The day after rimride we did a CW lap and had 30+ mph headwinds for much of the ride. Not a chance of 7 that day ;)

You think you could muscle up murphy's and hardscrabble with 2:1 gearing? I tried...but I guess I'm no muscle. I walked a little on all of them but I'm sure you could muscle up them with that gearing if you were really determined to.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14960740006971546039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9492102.post-44713665470566856372008-03-30T08:29:00.000-06:002008-03-30T08:29:00.000-06:00Questions. Mostly I kept moving. I don't know actual stopped time until I download the GPS track since when I finished I put the bike down to eat without turning the GPS off. I'm sure it's under 30 minutes total stoppage time though.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14960740006971546039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9492102.post-35616521924916239512008-03-26T11:12:00.000-06:002008-03-26T11:12:00.000-06:00He obviously took one less pee break!Wow!EdHe obviously took one less pee break!

Wow!

EdEdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15402996887970631062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9492102.post-75986905860094140612008-03-26T10:59:00.000-06:002008-03-26T10:59:00.000-06:00Sub 8 hour! way to go. do you know what your mov...Sub 8 hour! way to go. do you know what your moving time was? i guess being by yourself you probably didn't stop for much of anything.Geoffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03238385683129822240noreply@blogger.com
