I've got a monster picture post to update everyone on everything I've neglected to blog about but instead I sit here daydreaming (or is it nightdreaming?). Temperatures are warm here, the back door is open so Turbo can come and go as he pleases and the snow is hardly a permanent fixture on even the highest peaks. Yet all I can think about is snow tonight. Is it different? Grass is greener disease? Is it the fact that Mikesee's Snoots is one of the coolest fab projects I've ever seen. Is it because a summer down quilt seems all too easy to build while a 40 below bag seems still the realm of the experienced?
Soon enough I'll be trudging though some snow here in Colorado's high country on my oh-so-not-specialized mountain bikes. Sweating. Pushing. Alone or maybe with a friend or two who somehow deep down understands. Dreaming of Endomorphs and Pugsleys. Floatation. Planning a day still very far away when I'll visit our northernmost state for the first time. Wild and challenging. Alive.
