Escape

Marni and I are running off to the desert this weekend to join Scott and Melissa for some Fruita riding. Not much to say. A million things are going though my brain lately about next year and life in general. There needs to be a change and I'm afraid it may come somewhat at the expense of bike racing (for a little while) but for the benefit of everyone who knows me. Being in a perpetual bad mood is not a good thing and even riding can do only so much to correct it.

Have a great weekend out there!

P.S. Check out this if you've got loved ones who worry when you're away. I'm thinking very much about ditching the useless cell phone and carrying one of these next year. http://www.findmespot.com/

neat gadget...

way cool for people to see where your at...

I do worry that some in the enduro crowd would see this as a bail out/not doing it on your own?

Eh big deal. My family certainly has a right to piece of mind to know where I am and that I'm okay. In most ways it's a lot less intrusive than a cell phone and you can't really use it to do anything but an emergecy pickup and basic "I'm here" check in. Certainly won't help you check the weather, order food or even talk to a real live person for moral support.

If that's not hardcore enough for someone else then I guess they'll just have to deal with it.

Saw that at Outdoor Retailer. They had a super tiny booth....but were super busy the entire time. I think they were named one of the top gadgets for the coming year.
