Denied

For the 2nd year in a row, I missed out in the lottery to get into the Leadville 100. The race that basically launched me back into cycling and now I can't get in to try and nab my first SS finish there. It's a little depressing although since I've been entering the last two years mostly to get to race with my friends and not as the focal point of my season, it's not as bad as it could be. Still the race is fun and the atmosphere great so I'll be trying my luck again in 2009. Good luck to all of you who got in, I'll be cheering you on and if you need any help or info, just hollar.

I guess I could enter the Leadman...

Sad :( Maybe next year I'll enter with you and give you that little "girl" push in the lottery...

Bummer, man. I was denied, too. I was really bummed at first, as it was my focus for the year, but I've now just accepted it, and am just trying to figure out what I plan on being my big race now.

On a slightly different note, have you heard anything about the New Mexico Endurance Series? I'm thinking about throwing one or two of these on the calendar to try out some unsupported ultra racing.

Fonk,

I have heard about that and the Arizona version as well. The races look really fun and I'd love to go to more of them, esp if I could carpool with someone or a couple people. I don't even mind taking the Element but sometimes going to NM or AZ solo is a long drive and lots of gas.

Bummer you didn't get in. There are a lot better courses out the but there's nothing like the Leadville race atmosphere.

That sucks, sorry to hear it. You should start a petition!
