Twin Sexy

Marni got to wear her new TwinSix jersey for the first time last night and she was very excited. Looks good QotMs :) We had a small group but a good time nevertheless. Mike and Scott are on the injured reserve list at the moment and their SO's were probably playing nurse. Hey wait a minute... Marni was still tanked from being sick so she slowly worked her way up Chimney Gulch. She's well rested now though so as soon as she's fully recovered her next training block will start. Watch out girls! She turned around at the last road crossing while Erik and I headed up the last section of singletrack to tag the top. Erik made sure the pace wasn't too slow but most of the time I was content to follow. My legs were wiped by the time I arrived in Golden and that was a good thing.Bill and Nicolette trailed behind the 3 of us and Erik and I caught them on the descent. Nicolette had a little "car trouble" but it was nothing our AAA didn't take care of in short order. They looked like they were having fun and we all finished the descent together stopping a few time to regroup along the way.
On a not-exciting-to-non-crazy-endurance-freaks note, my newest pack showed up yesterday. It's a 1200 cubic inch Nathan sports 759. I hastily loaded it up with 13lbs for the ride to Golden and Chimney Gulch last night and so far I like it. Much better load control than everything I've used so far, well padded and it seems to fit. I also like the size since it will really force me to be picky even more on what I bring along. I also like that it isn't tall enough to interfere with my helmet. While it's way too heavy compared to some of the ultralight packs I've used so far, the suspension and convenience pockets may make up for that in the long run. I already know the hip belt and top pocket are super time savers when you're out riding. I'll report back again after I take it on a solid overnight adventure.

I look so relaxed and well rested in the bridge shot, you'd never know I was gasping for air between hacking coughs eh? I fake it quite well for the camera! Thanks for the fun jersey!

That IS a nifty looking pack. I would like to eyeball one in person sometime soon.

Do the hip belt pockets hit you in the gut when you are in a riding position? If not, they would be handy.

would love to hear more about your take on that pack as you get to use it more. was looking just a couple weeks ago at getting that same one. it's tough living here in juneau because there is nowhere to go check out gear. it's pretty much order online and hope for the best.

Will do Geoff. It's pretty much the same here sadly enough. Sure REI has tons of packs but not any really specialized ones. I finally found a deal on this one so I wasn't out $120 if I didn't like it. So far so good...
