Yesterday I made some comments to some people about not bringing my heavy booties to Moab. Apparently the freak warm temperatures melted my brain. Today the windchill was back in the teens so I put my supposed Moab clothing to the test. I was nice and warm except for the two popsicles attached to my pedals. So yes, the heavy booties are now on the "will probably wear" list along with my lobsters, balaclava, Driclime top, wool base layers and warm tights. I'll have my waterproofs and some high loft insulation packed away in reserve as well. Hello mouth, my name is foot...
Tonight Marni and I are going to hang out and I'll get the bike washed up, various batteries charged, clothes washed and everything packed up and ready for the trip. I'll have put in over 200 miles this week even before leaving for Moab but my legs feel decent anyway. It's been almost a year since my last journey around White Rim and I'm really excited, cold weather or not. In fact last time we headed out the weather was single digits in Denver. Hmmm...
