Drink of endurance racers?

250 Calories in a bottle for $1? Sounds good to me if it's drinkable. The quest for proper 6-24 hour riding nutrition continues. I will try some this week to see how it tastes.

I use Slim-Fast in all my endurance events. It is nice because after a few hours in the saddle I tend to not be able to eat solid food to well. It also helps "coat" what I call the sugar stomach, that horrible gut ache from to much sugary gel or sports drink.

Find a flavor that you like and go see if it works for you.

The Ensure Plus has like 350 calories in the same bottle... Make sure you get used to it ahead of time though, using it for the first time on race day is, uhh, a baaaad idea...

250 calories seems right on what I'm "supposed" to intake I think but I'll check out the Plus next time we go to the store. They also had something called "Boost".

The biggest thing is if it's drinkable at all. I'm going to have one after work before my ride tonight and see how it goes.
